Annual Event

The Fund's 2010 Annual Event will be held at Woodplumpton & District Club (www.woodplumptonclub.co.uk) on Friday 17 September.

The event is open to all currently funded projects and potential applicants as well as invited guests from environmental organisations, local authorities, community groups and local press.

The day will consist of a review of the Fund's year and the many significant projects we have supported, an update and film on the new Brockholes nature reserve near Preston and a guest speaker (tbc).  Refreshments and a buffet lunch provided.

The next deadline for the receipt of applications is 11th October 2010.

Revised application forms have been added to the quick links section. We have updated the names of the two funding streams. Community Chest is now called Small Grants, Strategic Fund becomes Major Grants. Please note that as well as the titles there have also been changes to some of the qualifying criteria and financial details required.

The Big Lottery Fund has teamed up with the BBC to launch the Community Wildlife Programme. The programme celebrates 2010, the International Year of Biodiversity, by allowing local groups and communities to get more involved with, enhance and protect their local wildlife. Grants of between £300 and £10,000 are being provided for one-year projects.
